Disclosure culture—
It’s disturbing.
No one is obligated to reveal their sexual orientation, gender identity or dis/ability status to anyone else on this godforsaken website.
STOP assuming you know any of these things about people just because you’re involved in an internet spat. You cannot fucking tell if someone is trans unless they tell you, and the same goes for queerness and dis/ability status. Can you seriously not see, SJWs*, that there are enormous social consequences that come along with revealing any of these things? Or maybe someone just doesn’t want to.
If you’re seriously incapable of engaging other people in critical discussion without knowing their checklist of specific privileges/oppressions, I don’t even want to imagine how you must act IRL.
*SJW = social justice warrior
(The only exception I can think of to this rule right now is race—I think, for obvious reasons, white people should be obligated to disclose that they’re white. Should mixed-race people have to reveal their status, though? What if someone isn’t white but passes as white? I honestly don’t know, and I’m curious what my followers’ thoughts are on that matter.)
Yes, let’s enable those with privilege, whose privilege has directly benefited them and they probably have biased opinions on, to speak on behalf of those in minority groups as if they’ve had our experiences, and can dictate how we should behave
I don’t fucking understand this. Why is it acceptable for privileged people to speak over minorities, and why are we enabling this?
9 times out of ten when someone says, “YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT I AM. I COULD TOTALLY BE X, Y, OR Z” where x, y and z are oppressed groups, they’re actually a privileged douchebag trying to conceal their privilege beneath doubt.
You wanna know what a closeted gay person or stealth trans person generally says? Nothing. Won’t even hint that they could possibly be that sort human.
So it’s generally bullshit. Just like now.

I can understand that, I mean I don’t talk about my sexuality much. Even my mom who is WONDERFUL has said things that hurt on accident.

how can you form opinions about race in a social vacuum? Where do you live that you can even attempt that?
